the Stir Fry

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • Optional: red pepper flakes, sesame seeds, chopped scallions

Instructions

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine beef with marinade ingredients. Let it sit for 15–30 minutes.
  2. Mix all sauce ingredients in a separate bowl. Set aside.
  3. Blanch broccoli in boiling water for 1–2 minutes until bright green. Drain and rinse under cold water.
  4. Heat wok over high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of oil.
  5. Add beef and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  6. In the same wok, add another tablespoon of oil.
  7. Sauté garlic and ginger for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  8. Add blanched broccoli and toss for 1 minute.
  9. Return beef to the wok. Pour in the sauce and toss everything to coat.
  10. Let it simmer until sauce thickens and beef is cooked through (about 2 minutes).
  11. Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.

Tips:

  • Substitute beef with chicken or tofu for variation.
  • Use frozen broccoli if fresh isn’t available.
  • Add mushrooms, bell peppers, or snap peas for more vegetables.
